LIGHTS
Now, let's address the crucial question: Is Lash Glow safe?
Safety is a subjective concept that varies based on regulations, cultural beliefs, and personal preferences. At Lash Glow, we define safety as an absence of additional risk compared to everyday activities that most people engage in.
Ultraviolet (UV) light is a topic that sparks controversy due to its potential health effects. It's important to note that there are different types of UV light, varying in their levels of danger. The most dangerous forms of UV light are UVC (100 to 280 nm) and UVB (280 to 315 nm), which can cause damage to the skin and eyes. Tanning beds and prolonged sun exposure are known sources of these harmful UV rays.
In contrast, our device operates within the range of 395 to 400 nm and emits a low intensity of 5 watts, making it significantly safer to use. With proper precautions, such as wearing protective eyewear and ensuring limited exposure, the risks associated with this device can be minimized. To provide a relatable comparison, it's worth noting that the UV light emitted by this device is more similar to the blue light emitted by computer screens and phone screens, which fall within the range of 400 to 500 nm. This type of light is known to have less potential harm to the skin compared to the more dangerous UVB and UVC rays. Additionally, the intensity of the device's light can be likened to the gentle glow of candlelight or fire, which are not significant sources of UV or blue light. However, it's always recommended to exercise caution when using any light-emitting device, including the one you mentioned. Adhering to proper usage guidelines, employing protective measures, and consulting with a professional can help ensure safe and responsible use of UV or blue light devices.

The Lash Glow adhesive is a unique photo-reactive adhesive that undergoes curing using an LED light. The LED light used emits the lowest measured amount of ultra violet/blue light, specifically within the range of 395-400nm. It is important to note that this product is sensitive to light.

Upholding Ethics and Practicing Proper Protocol: Navigating the Path to Integrity

Ensuring Safety and Integrity: Our Personal Experience and Best Practices
For the past two years, we have incorporated LED/UV lights into are practice and have meticulously developed are own safety protocols. We firmly believe that these protocols should be adopted by the entire industry. Just like any other practice, our systems are safe when proper protocols are followed. When using our LED/UV 5W system, it is crucial to direct the light away from the eyes and towards the eye pads. This precautionary measure prioritizes the safety of both our clients and ourselves as artists. Additionally, the specific system we use is designed to be non-penetrating to the skin. However, it is important to note that the density and translucency of someone's eyelid can vary, hence the need for caution.
While not mandatory, we highly recommend the use of UV blocking glasses, in alignment with Health Canada standards. Eye pads or UV blocking silicone pads should be utilized in areas where the light may come into contact with the skin. By implementing these measures, we can ensure the complete safety of our systems. In cases where reaching the lash line requires taping up, it should only be done if absolutely necessary. During our sessions, it is essential to have the eyes completely closed to maintain optimal safety. At our practice, we prioritize ethics, integrity, and the well-being of our clients. By adhering to these protocols, we create a secure environment where everyone can feel confident and protected..

LASH ADHESIVE

Eyelash Extensions and Allergies:
My Personal Experiences and Findings
Over the past seven years, I have gained significant experience in the eyelash extension industry. Throughout this time, I have collected my own data and observations regarding allergies in this field. I would like to emphasize that the following paragraphs are based solely on my personal experiences.
As lash technicians, we often encounter the antagonist known as allergies. These allergic reactions seem to arise out of nowhere and can greatly impact both our clients and ourselves. Witnessing our clients suffer from extreme reactions or even sensitivities can be quite distressing.
When I first began my journey, I primarily used traditional lash extension methods, just like most others in the industry. However, a few years ago, I transitioned to the new LED/UV systems and began to notice some differences.
From my personal experience and the practices I have implemented in my own business, I have come to believe that allergies are often a result of overexposure to fumes. This understanding provides a plausible explanation for why someone can have lash extensions for years without any issues, only to suddenly develop a severe allergic reaction. In essence, I believe these allergic reactions are actually the body's natural defense mechanism.
Based on my findings, it is interesting to note that 0% of new clients trying the LED/UV lash system develop allergies. In almost 100% of cases, it is individuals who have previously experienced intense reactions from prior treatments who develop allergies. This observation challenges the common notion that people simply develop allergies over time. Allergies are not comparable to reactions caused by overconsumption of a particular substance; they are a different type of response, a defensive one from the body.
I have found that traditional adhesives, even the sensitive ones, are notorious for emitting high fumes. However, with the introduction of the LED/UV lash system, my clients, including those with sensitivity, have experienced minimal issues. The fumes are significantly less significant now. It is the individuals who have had intense reactions in the past that require extra precautions and protocols, as they are more likely to experience a reaction. Although the intensity of their reactions has reduced, we still need to prioritize their care and take necessary precautions.
Using the LED/UV system, my clients no longer experience burning sensations, weeping eyes, or discomfort during the lash application process. This is truly fantastic, and I attribute it to the fact that the products emit less intense fumes, minimizing any discomfort for our clients. Most of my clients can open their eyes almost immediately after the procedure, without any intervention, and enjoy long-lasting, comfortable results.
However, it is important to note that individuals who have had intense reactions in the past may start to experience discomfort and swollen lids around the 48-hour mark. I can only attribute this to their own body's defense mechanism.
In conclusion, my personal experiences and findings indicate that the LED/UV lash system has significantly reduced the occurrence of allergies in new clients. The fumes emitted by traditional adhesives were often the culprit behind intense reactions. While the reactions are now less intense, it is crucial that we continue to prioritize the care and precautions for individuals who have had severe reactions in the past. By understanding the nature of these reactions and taking appropriate measures, we can ensure a more comfortable and enjoyable experience for our clients.
